NTPC Flue Gas Desalination

Empereal KGDS was chosen to design, fabricate and set up the innovative Flue Gas desalination plant for wastewater recycling at the 2000MW Coal Power plant operated by NTPC at Simhadri, Andhra Pradesh. The plant utilized a very innovative heat exchanger to capture the waste heat from the Flue gas treatment plant to implement a Multiple Effect Distillation (MED) system for treating the Blow down wastewater from the cooling towers. The treated water was further polished to a high level of purity for use as replenishment water for the critical coal-plant boilers.
