TIDCO Solar Desalination

Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation (TIDCO) had plans to build a large scale Solar Thermal based seawater desalination plant which could produce electricity and desalinated water simultaneously. A consortium comprising of Empereal-KGDS and ILF Consulting Engineers won the bid to provide the technical and commercial feasibility study for this funded project.

The study involved technical and commercial feasibility analyses of all appropriate technologies for water desalination and energy generation based on site conditions, in order to narrow down the choices to prepare the RFP and tendering for the funding and construction phase of the project. The consulting report was evaluated and handed over successfully in 2015.
